June and Brad Surratt: Owners
Many years ago after graduating from Pfeiffer College with an BA Degree in Christian Education the Lord opened doors for me (June) to work for three years in the Child Development Center at Central United Methodist Church in Monroe, NC. Little did I know that this would be the foundation of my work in Early Childhood Education. After the birth of our two sons and working for three years as a receptionist in a large Child Care Center in Charlotte, I entered the corporate financial world, working in accounts receivables/payables for ten years.
The Lord Provides Opportunity
Once again only the Lord knew the full picture of where He was leading me when He provided the opportunity for Brad and me to open June Bug’s Childcare Center in Stallings, NC in 1989. The Lord had not only provided the foundation in Child Development to enable me to become the director; but also gave me the financial experience that enabled my husband and I to successfully run the center for nine years. When Brad and I sold the center in 1998, the doors opened for me to become director of Stallings United Methodist preschool. What an awesome God! I retired from the preschool in May, 2014 after 15 years of service at SUMC preschool.
It is the love of my life to be able to work with preschool and school age children at Ladybug Learning Academy . Through the love of Christ I can share and show His love to these children, their families, and the staff. I thank God for this opportunity to minister in His name.
Providing Our Community with a Christian, Star Rated child development center
Brad graduated from Pfeiffer College with a BS degree in Business Administration. He then worked in the corporate accounting field for 20 years. From 1989-1998 he was the financial director of June Bug’s CC. After selling center in 1998 he worked in accounting and currently works part time at a tax accounting office.
It is our goal to provide our community with a
Christian, Star Rated child development center that meets the needs of children, parents and staff through Ladybug Learning Academy.
